NOVEMBER
THE FIFTH
Fireworks night party,
just you and I.
You were the bonfire,
I was the guy.
AND SO YOU LEFT ME
I was running naked as the wind
through the forest that bore your name,
when I saw you with my good eye.
You were wearing clothes to embarrass me.
So I fainted.
COLOURS
I remember how the colours thrilled you,
the sun is so yellow you said
the trees are so green
and the sky is so blue -
I said yes
the sun is a coward
the trees are sick
and the sky is depressed
And so am I for saying that.
THINGS HAVE CHANGED
Oy, skinny!
she used to say,
make me a lasagne.
Ah, but things have changed now.
Oy, fatty!
she says,
make me a lasagne.
